New Office Campus at Playa Vista Post Office – 7. 31. 2009

July 31, 2009 – 6:26 am

As a resident of Playa Vista, I have always looked forward to the building of The Village, which I consider as the future town center or heart of the community.  However, since the market is shifting, I believe the push for the next phase of growth in Playa Vista will largely consist of new commercial buildings.  Once office tenants move in and as more jobs make this home, we will see an increased demand for housing. This inevitably leads to builders constructing new homes, after which should be the completion of the next phase, including The Village, a neighborhood retail center.

Not only has the inception of Playa Vista revitalized this entire area by creating more living and work space, it has also infused more demand onto the adjacent grounds, becoming a more positive influence.  The post office, located at 13031 Jefferson Blvd, just east of the Bridgeway Mills development and on the north side of Jefferson is a prime example.  According to the leasing office, plans for the former Terminal Annex Post Office include renovating 150,000 square feet into a premier creative office campus.  The newly remodeled complex will have polished concrete floors, exposed 30 foot ceilings, and more than 300 parking spaces.  The campus will be available for tenants to occupy in fall of 2010.
